MAINTENANCE LABORER POSITION

The Dracut Housing Authority (DHA) is seeking to fill a full- time position of Maintenance Laborer
starting on or about April 10, 2023. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of
custodian, grounds keeping, snow and ice removal and other tasks to assist with the maintenance and
upkeep of the Dracut Housing Authority properties. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that
each resident receives clean, safe, and sanitary housing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Provides custodial maintenance for common areas such as; lobbies, community areas, offices,
restrooms and laundry rooms.
 Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing.
 Maintains DHA grounds, trash, and dumpster container areas.
 Perform snowplowing and ice removal as needed.
 Assists with preparing vacated units for re-occupancy by performing tasks such as painting,
cleaning (inside & out), scheduling installation of new rugs and floors if needed, and any other
task that is required.
 Must have basic knowledge of maintenance systems, building equipment and small tools.
 Quick response to daily work orders generated through the Main Office.
 Must be available for rotating on-call after hours service and weather-related emergency
duties as required.
 Qualified applicant must have written/oral communication skills.
 Performs lawn and landscaping care, including, but not limited to; cutting grass, trimming
shrubs and raking as needed.
Successful candidate must possess valid Driver’s License and have a good driving record. Successful
candidate must pass CORI (Criminal Offender Record) screening. Salary is based on the Division of
Labor and Industries wage rates. Position is a 40-hour work week (Monday – Friday) with benefits
including; health insurance, life insurance and retirement pension.
